In early 2017, several of us joined minds and resources to make a better compost. Kevin Anderson, Vice President of Missouri Organic recycling operations in Kansas City, Missouri, had mountains of yard waste biomass, but limited markets to sell his compost. Also, growers were critical of Missouri Organic compost, insisting it was too rough, acid and anaerobic to use with seeds and seedlings.
Our team's mission was to develop a better compost and improved compost process. MO's soil amendment needed a more complete menu of nutrients, mineral-balanced, with extra alkaline minerals and trace elements, and active, thriving beneficial fungi. My goal own was a compost effective, reliable, impressive enough to gain respect and use by commercial growers with high standards for performance, convenience and cost.
